The clock is ticking! Manny Pacquiao, the Philippine boxing champ, will soon meet Miguel Cotto in the ring tonight.
The boxing ring at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada is ready and tickets are sold out. But prayers for the Filipino boxer is very important. Manny Pacquiao’s family back in his home country are lighting candles and chanting prayers for their beloved Manny. Mommy Dionisia, Manny’s mom, who is now in Las Vegas will not watch the boxing live but will stay in her hotel to pray.
In the Philippines, sports bars, restaurants, theaters and homes with wide screen TVs are starting to draw crowds of Manny’s supporters. The country is united again as Manny fights for the belt in the ring.
Filipinos in the United States who cannot come and watch the boxing live are busy calling their respective Pay-Per-View providers. There are two Pay-Per-View to choose from. $59.95 for SD and $64.99 for HDTV. As the clock ticks so does the money for Manny.
