Manny Pacquiao defeated Miguel Cotto on Round 12
Manny Pacquiao, who is the Philippines pride, defeated Puerto Rican boxer Miguel Cotto last Saturday, November 14, 2009. Cotto who is bigger and tallerĀ than Pacquiao tried to make it through to Round 12. Cotto’s wife and son, who watched the fight, were in shock when Manny Pacquiao pounded him with a lot of left and right punches. Manny Pacquiao’s speed and power were just way too much for Miguel Cotto’s heart.
It was undeniable that Manny Pacquiao prepared hard for the fight as he dominates the ring and knocked down Cotto twice turning Cotto’s face into a bloody mess. Cotto who refused to quit indeed up Pacquiao just chasing him in the later part of the rounds.
Manny Pacquiao’s father, who watched the fight of his son live, could only give a right thumb’s up and wink at the crowd. As confident as his father was, Manny kept his calm yet very careful in Cotto’s movements.
In an interview after he was declared the winner, Manny Pacquiao confided he tried to knockdown Miguel Cotto. Asked as to whether he is up for another fight, Pacquiao could only say that all he want right at the moment was to take a vacation with his family. He also admitted that the fight was the hardest fight he ever had. His coach however indicated that he would want Floyd Mayweather if the boxer is open for a fight.
With Manny Pacquaio’s successful fight a lot of boxing enthusiasts are predicting a Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather tandem in the near future.
