Krista Ranillo says goodbye to her wholesome image
After leaving the showbiz limelight to focus on her studies at the Ateneo de Manila University, Krista Ranillo is full of energy doing back to back projects.
Krista’s return to show business is marked by her role in Pieta as the love interest of Rigor, played by Ryan Agoncillo. The afternoon soap has been one of Krista’s great experience though she admits playing the role of Martha is very tough. All the while she thought it’s easy to play a role on TV just by watching a soap on television alone, but her perception proved her wrong. “We work for more than 24 hours and there are days when I have to cry all day. It gets really tiring,” Krista admits. She said that her experience with Pieta made her more patient and more appreciative of the work she’s doing.
Asked what it is like to work with Ryan and Cherie Gil, Krista said “Actually it’s very exciting kasi I know them as friends but I hadn’t worked with them before. I learned a lot from them. They’re very nice people and they also help me a lot.”
Krista is Maxim’s cover girl for its March 2009 edition. With her new roles, Krista says goodbye to her wholesome image. “Well. Yes, I graduated from that long ago,” she said. She stressed that her new roles is more of like repackaging and transforming her image. She however draws a line to only that of showing more skin on screen. “I don’t think I can do sexy films. Sexy? Yes, but not sex scenes,” she explains.
Krista just recently finished doing Marino, after her stint in two indie films Chopsuey and Paupahan.
