Korina Sanchez Rated K won Silver Medal Award in NY

Korina Sanchez was vindicated when she won the Silver Medal award from the prestigious New York Festivals for Broadcast for her show Rated K’s investigative report on Substandard Food Supplements in the Philippine Market. “I am glad and grateful that my bosses, Maria Ressa and Charie Villa, supported me all the way,” she said.

She has won numerous awards, but Korina Sanchez considers her latest winning as “the most thrilling” as it is a vindication of her investigative report whose findings were questioned by the owners and makers of glutathione brand, which eventually was upheld by the Bureau of Food and Drugs (BFAD).

In the New York Festivals for Broadcast, Korina was also named finalist in the Best Field Reporter Category for her special report on wire-tapping, her live annotation on the Manila Pen siege, the follow-up on the nursing test leak scandal and the exclusive report on MILF leader Al-Haj Murad, in addition to her Rated K show which is also a finalist in the Best Show Documentary (Magazine Format) category.
