Dr. Vicki Belo plays a role in the TV series I Love Betty La Fea
Dr. Vicki Belo is slated to come on TV screens. She will play the role of a doctor in the top rated TV series, I Love Betty La Fea.
Betty’s (Bea Alonzo) dream of revenge towards Armando Solis (John Llyod Cruz) wins her a free cosmetic surgery package in a “beauty contest” and who else would be perfect to play the role of a doctor to transform the TV’s ugly duckling other than Dr. Vicki Belo herself. The idea came from Deo (Endrinal, Business Unit Head of I Love Betty La Fea). Since the beginning of the TV series, he knows that the show will be needing a doctor who will transform the ugly face of Betty. According to Dr. Bello, Deo told her that for me ‘ikaw na ang magiging doctor!’ Dr. Belo thanked Deo for keeping her on his mind. “Ito lang naman din ang kaya ko to play myself on screen. I don’t know about acting (laughs). But I am open to new experiences like how to deliver lines. Most of the time kailangan mo ulitin because of the mistakes,” Dr. Vicki Belo shared during her first taping day with ABS-CBN.
Dr. Belo is very critical of her own performance in the scene being in a profession that values precision and perfection. Dr. Belo added that she was very stiff and nervous when she delivered her lines because it’s not something that she is used to. “I enjoyed playing my role “now I know Betty is the most supportive co-actor because when you’re talking to her mafi-feel mo talaga yong emotions. Ngayon ko lang naiintindihan ‘yung meaning ng ‘supportive co-actor’ because they really coached me, sina Bea, Pooh, and Candy.”
The country’s famous cosmetic surgeon confessed that the reason why she became a cosmetic surgeon is because she was very fat when she was a kid, weighing a hundred pounds. She added that she can relate herself to what it’s like to be in Betty’s shoes. “All my life I was fat so I saw how people treat you differently because you’re mataba. Nung teenager pa ako ang dami kung taghiyawat sa mukha. Every week ako pumupunta sa dermatologist. Doon ko pinlano kung anong gagawin ko sa buhay ko. I’m going to make people with bad skin look better, make fat people skinny. You will only live this place once and if you’re going to live it mas maigi na ‘yung maganda kaysa pangit.”
Dr. Belo has one piece of advice for people who are considering going under the knife that they should invest themselves in a very good surgeon.
