Aspirin could have saved the life of Former President Cory Aquino
A study, written by researchers from prestigious institutions Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts General Hospital and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, found that patients with colorectal cancer, also known as colon cancer, who regularly use aspirin before and after diagnosis were almost one-third less likely to die of the disease than non-users. The study which will be published in the Journal of the American Medical Association has an abstract available online.
This medical discovery came in very late. It could have saved the life of Former President Cory Aquino. It is also a huge money saver as aspirin only costs a penny.
The study also showed that patients who initiated aspirin use only after a diagnosis did even better and had half the risk of dying from the cancer.
