Alma Moreno to focus on political career
The ABS-CBN Star Circle Batch 16 member and mainstay of the TV series ‘I Love Betty La Fea, Kristel Moreno, celebrated her 18th birthday at the Manila Pavilion. Among the guests who attended the birthday party were members of the show, the Star Circle Batch 16 members, families and relatives including her aunt, Councilor of Paranaque, Alma Moreno.
Alma Moreno played a role in the TV series ‘Eva Fonda’, but her character passed away. “Marami nga ang nagagalit na namatay ako doon. Bakit daw ako pumayag? Kasi ang schedule ng konsehal ang hirap. Kaya ako na ang nagpasabi na patayin ako sa show. Ako ang secretary ng PCL (Philippine Councilor’s League). Umiikot kami sa iba’t-ibang probinsya. Kagagaling ko lang sa Mindanao at Cagayan. Naikot na halos ang buong Pilipinas,” Alma shares.
As to the rumor that she’s running as Vice-Mayor of Paranaque in the upcoming 2010 election, Alma clarified that she’s running but, for the second term, as councilor. “Pero bilang councilor pa rin, second term ko kung sakali. Tapos noon may third pa. Gusto ko nga makaabot ako hanggang third term bilang konsehal. Hindi muna ‘yung mataas na position. Mahirap magmadali,” Alma explained.
Alma, who is loveless now, also shared that she remained a friend to ex’s Gerald Madrid and Joey Marquez. With Joey, Alma said that they do not have communication currently since there is nothing to discuss about their kids.
Although she has a lot of admirers now, Alma Moreno remain focused on her political career. “Wala munang love-love. Kasi hindi naman pina-plano ‘yan. Sobrang love ko ang pagiging councilor ko sa Paranaque. Ngayon lang ako magsisimula na mag-isa ako,” shares Alma. She also said that she’ll be relaunching the free burial project in Paranaque. “Dati na ‘yan ibabalik ko lang. May feeding program pa ako, tuloy-tuloy ‘yan, “ she said. Alma added that she’s trying not to fall in love because of the many projects she wants done for Paranaque. “Pero kung may magtiya-tiyaga at marunong manligaw sa pamilya ko, why not,” Alma esplains.
